Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated a railway overbridge and a flyover on the 4-lane road in Gorakhpur, calling the development a "new gift" for the state.

Speaking after the inauguration on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said the bridge would help reduce traffic congestion, making journeys "smoother and simpler."

"...After the construction of this flyover bridge, you will no longer have to get stuck in traffic jams... This is a new gift you have received to make your journeys smoother and simpler--I congratulate you on this," Yogi Adityanath said.

Highlighting the efforts of the "double-engine" BJP government in the state, the CM denounced the previous ruling governments for their failures on safety and progress.

"We all must remember the journey of the double-engine government since 2017. What was Uttar Pradesh like before 2017? There was fear, there was terror, there was disturbance, there was anarchy, there was disease, there were riots. Neither the daughters nor the traders were safe," the CM said.

In a veiled dig at opposition parties, Yogi Adityanath accused them of playing caste politics and compromising the future of the youth, while praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's solution-oriented approach.

"Who were these people who played the politics of caste? They spoke about their own families in the name of caste; they toyed with the future of the state's youth. These were the same people who had created an identity crisis in front of the people of the state... Today, I can say that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, now it's not about problems, but about solutions...," he added.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Chief Minister interacted with citizens during a public grievance redressal program after spending Monday night at the Gorakhnath Temple.

He listened carefully to the people who had come with their problems and read their applications. Politely, he said, "Don't worry, your problems will be resolved." During the 'Janta Darshan', the Chief Minister instructed the officials present there to pay sensitive attention to the problems of every aggrieved person and ensure their quick, high-quality, and transparent resolution.

During the public grievance redressal program held at the Mahant Digvijaynath Smriti Bhawan, the Chief Minister listened to the problems of about 200 people and instructed officials to resolve them.

The Chief Minister himself approached the people seated on chairs. With a friendly demeanour, he asked each person, "Where are you from? What is the matter?" and listened to their problems one by one.

He assured them that he would ensure the resolution of all their problems, and there is no need for anyone to be worried or anxious. Handing over the applications to the officials, he instructed that every problem should be resolved in a timely, high-quality, and satisfactory manner. Regarding complaints of land encroachment, he ordered strict legal action. (ANI)
