Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari on Sunday welcomed the elavation of Tejashwi Yadav as the party's national working president, addressing the latter as a person who ""reigns over the hearts of the youth, labourers, and farmers."
Yadav was appointed as the party's national working president after RJD's national executive committee meeting in Patna which was attended by his parents Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi and his eldest sister Misa Bharti, a Lok Sabha MP from Patliputra in Patna. Speaking on the development, Tiwari said Tejashwi Yadav commands strong support across the country, especially among youth, labourers and farmers. "Tejashwi Yadav has today been unanimously elected as the national working President of the RJD. Across the entire country, he reigns over the hearts of the youth, labourers, and farmers... Today, a resolution has been taken to uproot and throw away the government at the helm of the nation's power that deals in empty rhetoric and seeks to uproot the Constitution and democracy." Today's RJD meeting meeting was attended by party supremo and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Yadav, Misa Bharti, and other senior party leaders. The RJD in a post on social media X officially confirmed the appointment stating, "Dawn of a New Era! Tejashwi Yadav Ji has been appointed as the National Working President of Rashtriya Janata Dal!" Meanwhile, Lalu Prasad's daughter, Rohini Acharya today emphasised "Laluvad" as a fight for the marginalised and encouraged grassroots workers to speak up without fear. She claimed that "infiltrators and conspirators" sent by fascist opponents are controlling the party. In a post on X, she raised concern over the current state of Lalu Prasad Yadav's party, questioning those responsible for its decline and criticising leaders for avoiding questions, dodging accountability, and mistreating those who speak up. Archarya wrote on X, stating that whoever is a true "Laluvadi" would question the current state of the party founded by Lalu Prasad Yadav. She said, "Such a person will undoubtedly question those responsible for the party's current sorry state and raise their voice against the dubious and suspect roles of such people, without caring for the consequences."
