UP CM Yogi Adityanath wishes "new energy, enthusiasm and resolve" on Mauni Amavasya

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday extended greetings on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya, wishing "new energy, enthusiasm, and resolve."

In a post on X, the Chief Minister extended a welcome to the devotees who arrived at Sangam for the holy dip on the occasion.

"On the sacred occasion of the great festival of faith, Mauni Amavasya, a heartfelt welcome to all the revered Akharas, Dharmacharyas, saints, sadhaks, kalpavasis, and devotees who have graced the holy Sangam for the sacred bath," he wrote in the post.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister wished positivity and determination to all.

"By the grace of Mother Ganga, the bestower of liberation, and Lord Surya, may all the heartfelt wishes of everyone be fulfilled, may new energy, new enthusiasm, and new resolve awaken in life--this is my prayer....Har Har Gange!" he added.

Security arrangements have been boosted at the Sangam Ghat as a large number of devotees arrive to take a holy dip on Mauni Amavasya.

On the auspicious occasion, the police assured a heavy police deployment.

Speaking to ANI, Police Commissioner of Prayagraj, Jogendra Kumar, stated that despite thick fog in the region, a large number of devotees from several regions are continuously arriving for the dip.

He said, "...Proper security arrangements have been made...Devotees are coming in large numbers to take a holy dip. There is thick fog since midnight, despite that we are witnessing heavy footfall."

Additionally, the Divisional Commissioner of Prayagraj Division, Saumya Agarwal, said that appropriate arrangements have been made to ensure the safety and sanctity of the occasion.

"Proper arrangements have been made, and all the officials are present at the spot...," she told ANI.

The police also informed that nearly 50 lakh devotees have taken the holy dip till 4 AM on Sunday since Saturday, 6 PM. (ANI)
