MP CM Yadav performs bhoomi pujan, inauguration of development works worth Rs 312 crore in Sagar

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Saturday laid the foundation stones and inaugurated various development works worth Rs 312 crores in Khurai, Sagar district and addressed a gathering on the occasion.

According to an official release, CM Yadav also announced the construction of a Rahatgarh-Khurai road at a cost of Rs 500 crore, Bina River Project worth Rs 429 crore and Rs 25 crore for the construction and facility development of Khurai Agriculture College.

Additionally, he declared the establishment of a new ITI in Khurai for youth training, installation of an athletic track at the Khurai sports complex, construction of a multi-sports complex in Malthaun and opening of two Sandipani schools.

Speaking on the occasion, CM said, "The state government has set a target to increase milk production by up to 20 per cent. Through the Bhavantar scheme, farmers are receiving fair prices for their crops, and various irrigation projects will ensure adequate water availability for irrigation in the future."

He also stated that the government has no shortage of funds to improve the lives of youth, women, the poor and farmers. He added that under the Kisan Samman Nidhi, farmers are receiving Rs 10,000 a year through combined support from the Centre and the state. Under the Ek Bagia Maa Ke Naam scheme, farmers are being provided Rs 2 lakh for developing orchards on one acre of land. The holistic development of farmers remains the government's top priority.

Along with agriculture, animal husbandry is also being promoted in Madhya Pradesh. Farmers are being encouraged to establish gaushalas to boost milk production through animal husbandry. Under the 'Krishak Varsh, the government is working to make farming profitable, the CM said, elaborating that efforts will be made to further strengthen the agricultural implements manufacturing industry in Khurai.

He added that Madhya Pradesh currently contributes around 9 per cent to the country's milk production, and the government aims to raise this to 20 per cent. Various schemes are being implemented to boost milk production. He announced that farmers setting up a dairy unit with 25 cows will receive a government subsidy of Rs 10 lakh under a Rs 40 lakh scheme.

He further highlighted that Bundelkhand is a centre of architectural heritage, attracting visitors from India and across the globe to sites such as Khajuraho and Orchha. He added that the government is continuously working to promote tourism. Places associated with Lord Krishna's footsteps will be developed as pilgrimage centres, and Chitrakoot Dham will also be developed further. (ANI)
