West Bengal Minister Shashi Panja condemned the alleged rape and murder of a girl child in Bulandshahr and slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), calling the party anti-women.

Speaking to ANI, Shashi Panja said, "What happened in Bulandshahr is a case of POCSO. It is so brutal and inhumane that these rapists after raping the 8-year-old girl, have thrown her off the roof of the house, and she is dead. The rapists, when they were being arrested by the police, one or two got caught, they retaliated, and there were retaliatory attacks on the police. Those who speak on women's safety and UP law and order situation this speaks volumes. BJP mentality is anti-women. We have seen those who have raped and been convicted, people like Kuldeep Singh Sengar, are being released on appeal by the BJP.

A girl child was allegedly raped and thrown off the roof by the assailant in Bulandshahr district, resulting in her death. UP police arrested two suspects after a brief exchange of fire.

Police said that on January 2 in Sikandrabad police station, information was received that a girl child was found in injured condition in industrial area Rajpura village, Bulandshahr.

"The child was sent to Sikandrabad for treatment. Doctors declared her brought dead. A post-mortem was conducted. The father of the victim said that the building in which they used to stay in rent, in the same building two youths Raju from Balrampur and Veeru from Lakhimpur Kheri, also stayed on rent. The child was playing on the terrace. And the girl was found in the field behind the terrace. Father has alleged that her girl has been raped," SP Rural, Bulandshahr, Tejveer Singh on Saturday, said.

"Three teams were formed to arrest them. Police got information that both the suspects were hiding on Kanwara road. The accused fired shots at the police, and in response, both were shot in their leg after a brief encounter.

The cop said that they were sent for treatment in the hospital after being arrested. "They have accepted their crime," he added. (ANI)
