A day after the Mahagahthbandhan released its manifesto for the Bihar assembly polls, BJP candidate from Bakhriour assembly constituency and Bihar government minister Nitin Nabin slammed RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, accusing him and the alliance of cheating the poll-bound state.

"What is the pledge of a person who is unpopular even in his own family and remains unpopular in his own party as well... What kind of pledge? You have only cheated Bihar," Nabin told ANI in response to the manifesto titled 'Bihar Ka Tejashwi Pran'.

The BJP leader also took a dig at the Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi.

"Rahul Gandhi has woken up. After two months, he remembered that elections were being held in Bihar," he said.

According to the Mahagathbandhan manifesto, under the 'Mai-Behin Maan Yojana', women will receive financial assistance of Rs 2,500 per month from December 1 for the next five years.

The alliance has promised to put the Waqf (Amendment) Act on hold, and to make the management of Waqf properties "welfare-oriented and transparent".

Meanwhile, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday opened his campaign for the Bihar Assembly elections, addressing a joint rally with the Mahagathbandhan CM face Tejashwi Yadav. The Lok Sabha LoP claimed that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is just a face in the NDA government in the State, but the "remote control" is in the hands of the BJP, which, he said, has nothing to do with social justice.

"Nitish ji's face is being used. The remote control is in the hands of the BJP. You should not think that the voice of the most backward people is heard there," the Congress leader said in an election rally here.

"Three or four people control it. BJP controls it. They have the remote controller in their hands, and they have nothing to do with social justice. I said in front of the Prime Minister in the Lok Sabha that you should get the caste census done. He did not say a single word... BJP is against social justice. They do not want it," he added.

The assembly elections will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11. The results will be declared on November 14. (ANI)
