BRS Working President KT Rama Rao on Wednesday termed the Jubilee Hills Assembly seat bypoll, scheduled for November 11, a contest between "ten years of development and two years of anarchic rule."
KTR suggested that a loss in the Jubilee Hills bypolls will serve as a wake-up call for Congress to fulfil its promises. "The election taking place in Jubilee Hills is not an election between parties, nor is it between two individuals. This election is taking place between ten years of development and governance and two years of anarchic rule," he said. "1.67 crore women across the state are looking forward to the victory of Maganti Sunitha in Jubilee Hills. They are hoping that with her victory, the government will fulfil its promise and provide Rs. 2500 per month to women. Lakhs of farmers are hoping for her victory. They believe that only then will Congress implement the promises made to them," he added. BRS has fielded Maganti Sunitha from the Jubilee Hills Assembly seat. She is up against Congress' Naveen Yadav and BJP's Lankala Deepak Reddy. Earlier, K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) launched a frontal assault on the ruling Congress party, alleging massive electoral fraud and a blatant disregard for democratic principles ahead of the upcoming by-election. In a detailed presentation to the media, KTR accused the Congress of employing various "conspiracies and machinations" to manipulate the voters list, insisting that despite these illegal attempts, the BRS would still emerge victorious. The BRS leader's address highlighted numerous irregularities, raising serious questions about the integrity of the electoral process. KTR initiated his critique by pointing out "abnormal" changes in the electoral rolls. He stated that while the voters list saw an addition of 23,000 new votes, a simultaneous and unexplained deletion of 12,000 existing votes occurred, stressing that the sudden and excessive increase in voters raised "many doubts." The BRS specifically alleged that the Congress party candidate had acted outside their legal remit, effectively "taking over the duty of the Election Commission" and engaging in the illegal distribution of voter IDs, even extending these identity cards to minors. The last date for filing nominations is October 21, with scrutiny of nominations scheduled for October 22 and withdrawal of candidature by October 24. Polling will take place on November 11, with the counting of votes scheduled for November 14. The election process is expected to conclude by November 16. (ANI)
