Guntur District Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal handed over 250 recovered stolen and lost mobile phones worth 50 lakh to the victims at the District Police Office Conference Hall on Tuesday.

"In many instances, people face serious problems when their mobile phones are lost or stolen, as they may contain personal, banking, and other confidential information that offenders can misuse. Victims have been filing complaints in such cases with the police," SP Vakul Jindal told reporters.

"Based on these complaints, our police teams are using advanced technical tools to trace and recover the lost mobile phones. We are handing them back to the rightful owners completely free of cost, which has brought great satisfaction and happiness to the victims," he added.

The police officer said that anyone who loses or has their mobile phone stolen should immediately contact the Police Helpline at 8688831574 or register a complaint on the CEIR website.

"Nowadays, cybercriminals use mobile phones to deceive people -- by creating fear, offering fake job or business opportunities, or promising large sums of money -- and then stealing money from their bank accounts. Therefore, people must stay alert and aware of such cyber frauds. Do not panic if you receive such fraudulent calls -- block those numbers immediately and report the matter to the nearest police station or call the National Cybercrime Helpline 1930 to stay safe," the SP advised.

The SP appreciated the efforts of IT Core CI Nissar Basha, Head Constable Kishore, Constables Sridhar, Imam Saheb, Yasin, Aruna, and Manasa, as well as CCS Head Constable Ramesh and Constable Kareemulla, for their dedicated work in recovering and returning the mobile phones to the victims. (ANI)
