Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President and Union Minister JP Nadda on Saturday said that all political parties had lost their "ideological ground", stressing that only the BJP had "remained consistent" with its core beliefs and principles.

The BJP National President made the remarks while addressing the Kerala BJP committee meeting today.

While addressing the gathering here, Nadda said, "All political parties have lost their ideological ground... The left is no longer the left. The right is no longer the right... All political parties are now converting themselves into regional parties, and regional parties are now becoming family parties."

He added that, unlike others, the BJP stood as an "ideology-based" and cadre-based party with "wide public support". The BJP chief also highlighted that his party had always remained clear on major national issues like Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and Triple Talaq.

"It is only the BJP that is an ideology-based party, a cadre-based party and has a mass following. We never compromised on our basics. We have been consistent on CAA. We have been consistent on UCC. We have been consistent on Triple Talaq," he said, underlining the BJP's position on matters of national debate.

The BJP chief chaired a meeting with the BJP State Office Bearers at The Quilon Beach Hotel & Convention Centre, located at Pallithottam, Thamarakulam, in Kollam. The meeting focused on organisational preparedness, upcoming local body elections, and strengthening the party's grassroots network in Kerala.

Earlier in the day, Nadda landed at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport on Saturday morning. Kerala BJP President Rajeev Chandrasekhar and other top leaders of the party in the State received him at the airport.

Nadda attended the 72nd birth anniversary celebrations of spiritual leader Mata Amritanandamayi in Kollam. (ANI)
