Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha on Tuesday hit out at the opposition after Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy joined the 'Voter Adhikaar Yatra', saying that it was the people of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress who weren't aware of their DNA and the country's culture.

"These RJD-Congress people do not know their own DNA, nor do they know the country's culture. Today, Bihar is the creator of an undivided India, and the history of the country is incomplete without the history of Bihar. Those who have such sentiments in their hearts towards Biharis have drifted away from their own culture and values. These people insult Biharis," Sinha told reporters here.

Meanwhile, Jan Suraaj Party chief Prashant Kishor trained guns on Revanth Reddy, rekindling criticism against the latter's "Bihar DNA" remarks, and said that the Congress leader will be "chased with sticks" if he visits a village in the state.

Intensifying his attack, Kishor criticised Leader of Opposition (LoP) Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi for inviting Reddy, who, he said, abuses people of Bihar.

"Who is Revanth Reddy? He is someone who uses abusive language for Bihar and the people of Bihar. What is Revanth Reddy's status in Bihar? What has he done for Bihar? He has abused them. He has said that labour work is in the DNA of the people of Bihar. If Revanth Reddy visits any village in Bihar, people would chase him with sticks. Rahul Gandhi has him on his stage, it shows his mindset that he is inviting such a person on stage who abuses the people of Bihar," Kishor told ANI.

In December 2023, Reddy took a dig at former Telangana CM and Bharat Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrashekar Rao, allegedly saying, "Telangana DNA was better than Bihar DNA."

The 16-day 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Bihar, with Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav at its forefront, aims to raise awareness about alleged irregularities in the voter list, which opposition leaders have termed a case of vote chori (vote theft). Covering over 1,300 km across 20 districts, the yatra is scheduled to conclude in Patna on September 1. (ANI)
