Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Sat Sharma on Friday expressed grief over the cloudburst in Kishtwar, stating that more than 46 people have lost their lives and several others are injured.

Speaking to ANI, Sharma said, "...We will never forget yesterday's incident in our entire lives. More than 46 people have lost their lives in the incident, and we pray to God that this figure does not go up. Many people are injured, many are missing..J&K LoP Sunil Sharma, BJP MLA Shagun Parihar are present at the spot since yesterday and we have been able to rescue a lot of people."

"Our MLA also went to the hospital in Jammu in the morning. Nearly 46 Shraddhalu who are injured here are being treated. I only want to pray to God that those who are injured recover as soon as possible...There should be a faster process through the administration because there are a lot of requirements there. There is a lot of need for water there; we have sent some vehicles," he added.

Sharma also urged the administration to take this matter seriously. He added, "There is a need for a lot of such things which are required immediately, such as medicines, water, and food. We will also try, and the administration should make arrangements for these things."

He further stated that he, along with three MLAs, two district presidents, party workers, and the entire team, will reach the site. "...And along with the administration, we will try to bring back as many people as we can safely," he added.

A massive cloudburst on Thursday triggered a flash flood in the Chashoti area of Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir, along the route of the Machail Mata Yatra, which led to the loss of over 45 lives. Rescue operations are in full swing in the area, and the victims of the tragedy are being treated in the District Hospitals. (ANI)
