Bharatiya Janata Party MP Deepak Prakash slammed Rahul Gandhi on Friday, saying that the Congress leader is an "expert in lying," while the latter protested against the Bihar SIR and alleged large-scale voter list fraud in Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.

"Rahul Gandhi is an expert in lying. The whole Opposition and Congress are skilled in doing fraudulent politics. It was Rahul Gandhi who initially demanded a revision of the voter list," the BJP MP told ANI outside Parliament.

Calling out the Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition for being hypocritical, the BJP leader said that Gandhi should present his points to the Election Commission instead of making allegations publicly.

"Now, as the Election Commission conducts a special intensive revision to correct and identify legitimate voters, he started having problems with this. He should present his points to the Election Commission," he said.

Further hitting out at the Opposition parties for obstructing parliament, he added, "This Parliament operates on the hard-earned money of the poor, and they are working to obstruct that."

Earlier on Friday, the Centre and the Opposition sparred over Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's allegations of "vote theft" against the Election Commission of India (ECI), with BJP leaders and allies dismissing his claims as "baseless."

On August 7, Gandhi had claimed that the 2024 Lok Sabha elections were "choreographed" by the EC to benefit the BJP, which he said appeared "immune to anti-incumbency."

Presenting Congress's research on voting in the Mahadevapura Assembly in Karnataka, Rahul Gandhi alleged "vote chori" (vote theft) of 1,00,250 votes.

Congress leader on Friday, along with Gandhi and party chief Mallikarjun Kharge, also attended the 'Vote Adhikaar Rally' being held at Freedom Park in Bengaluru.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy DK Shivakumar, along with other party leaders, are present at the rally, which has been held to protest the alleged vote theft.

Earlier in the day, doubling down on his vote theft claim, Rahul Gandhi said that times would change and punishment would surely be meted out to those who were involved in the "scam".

"Vote theft is not just an electoral scam, it is a major betrayal committed against the Constitution and democracy. Let the nation's culprits hear this - times will change, punishment will surely be meted out," Rahul Gandhi said in a post on X. (ANI)
