Congress leader Pramod Tiwari on Sunday accused Union Minister Chirag Paswan of being greedy for power after his remarks against the rising crime rate in Bihar.

Pramod Tiwari highlighted that Paswan contested the Lok Sabha elections under the NDA alliance and is also a Union Minister; however, he is now raising questions about crime in Bihar.

"Chirag Paswan fought Lok Sabha Elections under NDA alliance, is a Union Minister, and now he is raising questions and criticising crime in Bihar... He should leave the greed of power."

Earlier on Saturday, Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president, Chirag Paswan, said that he is "saddened to support such a government," which is not able to curtail the rising crime rate.

"I also believe that these incidents are being carried out as a conspiracy to defame the government ahead of elections. But even then, the responsibility of controlling it lies with the administration. Either the administration is in collusion with it, or the administration has become completely useless, and now it is beyond their power to keep Bihar and Biharis safe," the Union Minister told reporters in Patna.

"I request the Bihar government to take action on this matter in a timely manner. I feel ashamed that I am supporting such a government, under which crime has gotten out of control," he added.

Meanwhile, slamming the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) for including Operation Sindoor in the textbooks, Tiwari said that suggestions should be taken from everyone, and the history should not be distorted.

"When changes are made in NCERT, suggestions should be taken from everyone, including the opposition. True, history should not be distorted," he said.

Taking a jibe at the Centre, he added, "It should also include statements of army chiefs. It should also include that when our forces were moving towards Pakistan, had the US President have announced a ceasefire in exchange for trade deals? The weakness of political leadership should also be described." (ANI)
