AAP Delhi President Saurabh Bhardwaj has expressed skepticism over the sudden resignation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, hinting that there might be more to the story than meets the eye.

Bhardwaj questioned the abrupt nature of Dhankhar's resignation, suggesting that the circumstances surrounding it are unusual and warrant further scrutiny.

He also pointed to potential internal conflicts within the BJP, referencing ongoing discussions about the party's president and speculating whether these might be connected to Dhankhar's resignation.

While talking to ANI, AAP Delhi President Saurabh Bhardwaj said, "It seems that what is being stated and the actual reason are different. For such a senior person to resign and the entire BJP to remain silent on it, and for the resignation to be accepted immediately, there must be something that happened behind the scenes. It appears that all is not well in the BJP. There have been talks about their President for months, but no decision has been made... Meanwhile, the sudden resignation of the Vice President... It's hard to believe. We don't know what the truth is, whether it will come to light or not."

The Congress party members continue to pick holes in the resignation of former VP Jagdeep Dhankar from his position, citing health grounds. Prior to his resignation, opposition parties had submitted a notice to seek Dhankhar's removal, accusing him of bias towards the ruling party and stifling opposition voices in the Rajya Sabha.

The opposition alleged that Dhankhar's actions as Chairman of the Rajya Sabha have undermined parliamentary debate and displayed a partisan attitude, favoring the ruling NDA coalition.

Dhankhar, who is also Chairman of Rajya Sabha, sent his resignation letter to President Droupadi Murmu. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Monday evening resigned from his post "to prioritise health care and abide by medical advice."

Earlier, Congress leader Randeep Surjewala also slammed the BJP following the resignation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, stating that the party has a track record of "weakening both constitutional offices and processes".

He noted that Dhankhar's "sudden and mysterious" resignation has left many questions unanswered and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to bring the matter to Parliament's attention.

"The sudden and mysterious manner in which the Vice President resigned leaves many questions unanswered. The BJP has a track record of weakening both constitutional offices and processes. The BJP also has a track record of insulting constitutional officeholders and undermining the constitutional framework... What is visible and what is the reason are entirely different. We demand that Prime Minister Modi come forward and take the people of India and Parliament into confidence", Randeep Surjewala told ANI.

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Member of Parliament (MP) Mahua Maji stated that there should be clarity on Dhankhar's resignation, suggesting that he could have tendered his resignation after the conclusion of the Monsoon session.

"This is very shocking for everyone. He could have resigned after the conclusion of the Monsoon session. Everyone is making assumptions regarding the reason behind Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar's resignation. There should be clarity on it," she said. (ANI)
