After an IndiGo trainee pilot levelled allegations against colleagues over caste abuse at the workplace, the airline refuted the claims on Monday, saying it upholds a "zero-tolerance" policy towards any form of discrimination, harassment, or bias and commits to an inclusive and respectful workplace.

In an official statement, an IndiGo spokesperson said, "IndiGo upholds a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of discrimination, harassment, or bias and remains firmly committed to being an inclusive and respectful workplace."

The airline also "refuted" the allegations, saying, "IndiGo strongly refutes these baseless claims and stands by its values of fairness, integrity, and accountability. The airline will extend its support to the law enforcement agencies as required."

The statement comes after a trainee pilot reportedly filed a complaint accusing three of his colleagues of caste-based abuse at the workplace.

According to the FIR registered by Haryana Police, the trainee pilot alleged that he was insulted and humiliated by three individuals during a meeting on April 28.

"Before the meeting, one of the individuals instructed me in a humiliating manner," the FIR notes. The pilot further alleged that he was called derogatory names and told that he did not deserve to fly an aircraft.

Based on his complaint, a case has been registered against the three accused under relevant provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). (ANI)
