Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the opposition, especially Lalu Prasad Yadav's family, saying those in the opposition looted Bihar. He also defended Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, calling him a "conscious" leader.

While addressing the press conference, Samrat Chaudhary said, "Bihar's infrastructure is nearing completion...Those in the opposition looted Bihar, while the state is developing under the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar and with the support of PM Modi and stands amid the developed states..."

In a briefing, Choudhary addressed recent remarks by opposition leaders and clarified law-and-order concerns, saying, "Bullets are being fired near the Chief Minister's residence. Bullets are not being fired from the Chief Minister's residence. Panchayat is not being held in the residence."

Defending Nitish Kumar's political legacy, he said, "Nitish ji and his family will decide who will enter politics. Lalu ji's family will not decide who will enter politics. Lalu's family can only loot the public and nothing else. Very unfortunate."

Choudhary called the opposition house "a house of corrupt people and criminals" and said only such people could "speak like this."

He also dismissed claims that Nitish Kumar was no longer in charge of state affairs. "Nitish Kumar is not an unconscious but a conscious Chief Minister," he added.

In a veiled reference to Tejashwi Yadav, Choudhary said, "The kind of statements Yuvraj is giving, it seems he is under tension."

Meanwhile, in a press briefing, he also said that the government was fully prepared to handle any flood-like situation and also spoke about long-term plans to bring back migrants from Bihar. "People who have migrated from Bihar will be brought back in the next 25 to 30 years," he said.

Choudhary accused the opposition of exploiting the state's resources during its rule. "Those who are in the opposition party in Bihar have only looted Bihar for 15 years. Lalu Prasad is the only Gabbar of Bihar," he said.

Highlighting the development under the present government, the Deputy CM urged the opposition to "show Patna airport and Marine Drive" to anyone questioning Bihar's growth. He also announced that the state government would construct a Ram Mandir-style temple of Maa Sita.

Further outlining government initiatives, he said, "Jeevika Didi's honorarium has been doubled. The social security pension has been increased from four hundred to eleven hundred."

"There has been a shower of development schemes for the last three years," he concluded, projecting the Nitish-led government as committed to welfare and infrastructure. (ANI)
