"Contribute generously towards Red Cross fund": Himachal CM Sukhu on World Red Cross Day 2025

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday met with a group of children and Red Cross Volunteers on the occasion of World Red Cross Day 2025. The Chief Minister also contributed towards the Red Cross fund and urged the people to contribute generously.

In a post on X, the Chief Minister praised the selfless humanitarian work of Red Cross Volunteers, saying, "Let us take a moment to recognise and appreciate the tireless efforts of Red Cross Volunteers and workers around the world, those who rush to the frontlines of crisis, deliver aid in times of disasters, and bring hope where it is needed the most."

Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania, Secretary to the Chief Minister Rakesh Kanwar, Municipal Corporation Shimla Councillors, and members of the HP Red Cross Society attended the event.

Earlier on Wednesday, CM Sukhu chaired a high-level meeting following the success of the Indian Armed Forces' Operation Sindoor.

The Chief Minister congratulated the security forces on the successful operation and praised their courage and professionalism in safeguarding the nation. CM said the country was proud of the brave hearts and their unwavering dedication.

CM Sukhu reviewed the state's security, transport, and communication systems, as well as the food and power supply, disaster management, and health services. CM also issued necessary directions to the concerned officials.

CM Sukhu reviewed the security system and various arrangements in the state in detail and gave necessary guidelines to the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police of all the districts.

Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, Additional Chief Secretary Onkar Chand Sharma, Director General of Police Dr Atul Verma, and various senior officers attended the meeting.

Colonel Deepak Kumar, Commanding Officer of 133 Eco Task Force (Dogra), met Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in Shimla and briefed him on the environmental initiatives undertaken by the Eco Task Force. (ANI)
