Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma on Tuesday commented on the recent violence in West Bengal's Murshidabad, alleging that the West Bengal Government is facilitating infiltration and creating unrest.

Speaking to reporters, Sharma questioned the West Bengal government about how it was handling the situation in the state.

"What can we say about the West Bengal Government? Hindus are leaving their homes and fleeing to other places. Nobody is there to look after them? What circumstances are forming there? These are all the mistakes of the West Bengal Government, and that is why all of this is happening. Infiltration is being facilitated from there, and attempts are being made to create such an atmosphere at other places in the country also. The West Bengal Government is colluding," he stated.

Meanwhile, Param Shakti Peeth founder Sadhvi Ritambhara also responded to the riots, stating that the events were "very unfortunate".

"This is very unfortunate. I would urge the Hindu community to unite and stand up for fellow Hindus wherever they are suffering. I would like to ask the government to take strict steps to ensure the safety of Hindus. Hindus need to rise up from castes and regions and unite," she said.

Earlier today, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a sharp attack on the West Bengal government over violence in Murshidabad, accusing the Mamata Banerjee-led government of remaining silent while the situation worsened.

Addressing a gathering, CM Yogi also thanked the Calcutta High Court for ordering the deployment of central forces "immediately" in Murshidabad.

The violence in Murshidabad was sparked by protests against the Waqf Amendment Act, which has been a contentious issue in the region. The protests turned violent, resulting in the deaths of three people, injuries to several others, and widespread property damage.

The BJP has accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of supporting the protests and criticised TMC MP Bapi Halder for making threatening remarks against those protesting Waqf properties.

On Monday, the West Bengal police said that the situation in the violence-hit areas of Murshidabad was normal and urged people not to believe any rumours. (ANI)
