Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for allegedly failing to maintain law and order in the state.

Baghel said that ever since the Aam Aadmi Party government came to power in Punjab, "instability has increased" "Explosions, murders and many incidents that tear apart the law have become common under the Aam Aadmi Party government".

This comes after Leader of Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa raised concerns about the presence of hand grenades in Punjab, which the government is trying to downplay.

Baghel further stated that Bajwa had made public the information about the "presence" of hand grenades in Punjab. "Instead of taking this information seriously and ensuring the safety of the public, the Punjab government is trying to put him in the dock," Baghel said in a social media post on X.

"In such a situation, people will refrain from giving information to the police and administration. The tradition of punishing the informer is not good. Punjab is a border state. The government should take every input seriously and ensure the safety of life and property. We all are with Pratap Singh Bajwa ji to protect the country, Punjab and Punjabi identity," he added.

Baghel's outrageous criticism of the Punjab government came after a team of Punjab Police Counterintelligence officers questioned Partap Singh Bajwa at his residence on the latter's statement about grenades and bombs coming into the state.

Bajwa has come under fire for his remarks, where he said that 50 bombs have reached Punjab and 18 of them have already exploded, while the 32 bombs are yet to go off.

"I gave a statement to a TV channel that my sources have warned me that several bombs have come to Punjab. 18 bombs have exploded, and 30-32 bombs are to be used. My source told me that I am in an important position, so I should stay aware since my family has already been a victim of terrorism," Bajwa told reporters. (ANI)
