Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood on Tuesday attacked the Aam Aadmi Party after inspecting schools in the national capital and said that the previous government developed two schools in Patparganj Vidhan Sabha.

"It is unfortunate that when I arrived at the school located in the constituency of 'father of educational revolution', I was told that for the last 1.5 years, the school has been requesting to renovate the ceiling, and it was not done... They just developed two schools here and there and have been rambling about a revolution in education ever since. This is their truth. We do not want to get into a blame game, but the conditions of schools that we are seeing are unfortunate... This is why they have lost this time," the Minister said.

He further said that, based on the complaints of their MLAs, they are visiting the schools with shortcomings in infrastructure.

"Based on the complaints of our MLAs, we are visiting those schools where there are shortcomings in infrastructure and the education system... Our government has now stopped counting the past shortcomings. Now our focus is on completing these tasks as soon as possible," Sood said.

Patparganj MLA Ravindra Singh Negi and Delhi Minister Ashish Sood visited Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya Mayur Vihar Phase 2.

Earlier today, several parents staged demonstrations in front of DPS, Dwarka, over the recent fee hike in the national capital's schools.

Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood vowed to take action against private schools that have increased their fees.

"We are being blamed for increasing Delhi school fees... Supreme Court passed an order in 2004 Modern School case that Delhi schools are bound to take permission from the Directorate of Education before increasing their fees... But they (AAP) got this order dismissed in 2024 in the Delhi High Court... Rekha Gupta will investigate the corruption in such cases where under-the-table money was taken...A committee will be formed under the leadership of CM Rekha Gupta and all schools will be audited and if any school fails any criterion, it will not be spared," the Delhi Education Minister said.
