Udhampur (Jammu and Kashmir) | March 31, 2025 3:13:14 PM IST
As the search operation in the Udhampur-Reasi region is ongoing, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Rayees Mohammad Bhat reaffirmed the security forces' commitment, stating that the operations would continue in a defensive posture.

"We have maintained a defensive position, and search operations are being conducted in Udhampur-Reasi areas. We will continue to stand with the families of the personnel who have laid down their lives in the line of duty," Udhampur-Reasi Range, DIG Bhat told ANI.

The ongoing operation in the region is part of ongoing efforts to ensure security and combat any threats.

The authorities remain determined in their mission, prioritizing the safety of civilians while honoring the sacrifices made by the brave personnel who have given their lives in service to the nation.

Earlier in the day, security forces intensified their efforts in the Kathua-Samba region, launching a search operation in the Samba sector near the international border to sanitise the area.

The search operation is still going on in Kathua to nab the terrorists after the encounter in the Sufian.

Authorities placed the entire region on high alert as the search operation continues to track down potential threats.

Earlier, during the counter-terror operation 'Safiyan' in the Kathua region, four Jammu and Kashmir police personnel lost their lives in the operation, while two terrorists were gunned down. Security forces recovered war-like stores from the encounter site.

The operation began on March 23, when locals reported the sighting of suspected Pakistani infiltrators in Sanyal.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Jammu and Kashmir on April 7-8 to review the security situation and interact with security personnel, said sources on Monday.

During his visit, Shah will chair a high-level security review meeting in the Union Territory to assess the current law and order scenario.

Senior officials from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and intelligence agencies will likely attend the meeting.

Discussions are expected to focus on counter-terrorism operations, cross-border infiltration attempts, and the overall security landscape in Jammu and Kashmir. (ANI)
