The mother of Saurabh Rajput, who was allegedly murdered by his wife Muskan, appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident, and urged for awarding the death penalty for the culprits.
Rajput's mother also demanded that they want to see their granddaughter and raise her, fearing for the child's safety. "I want justice, I want to give the death penalty to the culprits. I would like to appeal to PM Modi and CM Yogi (Adityanath) that a thorough investigation should be held in the case and justice should prevail. Whether the investigation happens through crime branch or CBI. I want to know each and everything, the reason behind the murder. What they talked about, why the fight happened, I want the solution to everything," Rajput's mother told ANI on Saturday. Saurabh Rajput was working in the merchant navy and was allegedly murdered by his wife and her partner Sahil on March 4. His body had been cut up and hidden in a drum, covering it with cement. Reportedly, Muskan's father, Pramod, played a crucial role in cracking the case. While taking Muskan to the police station, Pramod stopped the scooter and urged her to tell the truth. Muskan then confessed to the crime, revealing that she and her friend had killed Saurabh Rajput together. The mother claimed that they have not seen the granddaughter since the murder of their son. "We have a granddaughter, we want to see her and we want her. If the girl (accused) can do this with her husband then what can she do with the little girl? We haven't seen her (granddaughter) since, we want to see her and keep her," Rajput's murder said. The mother added that she did not hear of any marital or other problems from him when he came to meet her on the night of March 3, adding "If there were a lot of problems, then he (Saurabh Rajput) came here on the night of March 3, he would have said something. He had not even drank even little when he came, I was angry with him for coming late and letting the food go cold, but he said he will go have food with his wife. He used to bring a lot of food for the wife." The parents of the accused, Muskan, also called for capital punishment against his daughter, stating that her actions are "very wrong." "While we were going to the Police station, I stopped the scooter and spoke to her and told her to tell me the truth...then she confessed the truth that she and her friend together killed her husband, they put his body in a drum and placed cement on top of it. I took her to the Police station and asked her to tell the truth...that's how the case got solved. The verdict, in this case, should come fast, and I don't want anything less than capital punishment for her...what she did is very wrong...my son-in-law should get justice," said the accused father. Earlier on March 28, Meerut City SP Ayush Vikram Singh identified the accused as Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla, arresting both of them, and registering an FIR on the case. (ANI)
