Union Minister Chirag Paswan on Wednesday attended a 'Holi Milan' program in Patna, with his mother Reena Paswan and party workers, ahead of the main celebration on March 14.
Addressing the people, Chirag Paswan emphasized that an even bigger Holi will be celebrated in Bihar when the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) registers a victory and forms a government here in the upcoming State Assembly Polls. "This time, the colours of Holi are going to write a new history in Bihar. This is the beginning of the colours of joy. This time, we will celebrate the real Holi in November, when the NDA will register a massive victory and a government of the idea of PM Modi will be formed in Bihar once again. An even bigger Holi will then be celebrated in Bihar," the Union Minister said. Chirag on Tuesday slammed Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav following his remarks on BJP MLA Haribhushan Thakur's statement, saying that they have shown Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb for decades, adding that RJD people are trying to spread "religious imbalance." "Every religion, especially Hindu festivals, means that everyone celebrates festivals together. We have shown Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb for decades. A festival like Holi is one such festival when everyone celebrates together... RJD people try to spread religious imbalance, try to appease. This is not right," Chirag Paswan told reporters. Tejashwi Yadav hit back at Haribhushan Thakur's appeal to Muslims to "stay indoors", with the RJD leader saying, "Baap ka raaj hai kya?" Further, Yadav slammed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for not taking action against the BJP MLA for his remarks. The RJD leader also said that the Chief Minister was in an "unconscious state'' for not calling out the BJP MLA for his controversial statement. This comes after a BJP MLA from the Bisfi Assembly constituency, Haribhushan Thakur Bachaul, sparked controversy for "appealing" Muslims to "stay indoors" on Holi, which coincides with a Friday during Ramzan.
