Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Atishi claimed on Sunday that as soon as the AAP MLAs raised the issue of Rs 2500 payout for women in the House, their microphones were "switched off", and they were subsequently "thrown out."

The Kalkaji MLA pointed out that lakhs of rupees are spent daily to run the House and reminded the BJP of its commitment to delivering on the work front rather than always abusing Arvind Kejriwal.

"The House runs on tax money. Lakhs of rupees are spent every day to run the House... They (BJP) only want to abuse AAP and Arvind Kejriwal and nothing else... I want to tell the BJP that the people of Delhi have elected you not to abuse but to work... As soon as we raised the issue of Rs 2500 in the House, the Speaker, BJP MLAs immediately got furious, switched off our mikes and we were thrown out...", Atishi told ANI.

"BJP has no intention of giving Rs 2500 per month to the Women of Delhi, " she claimed.

Meanwhile, Delhi Minister Ashish Sood on Monday slammed the Aam Aadmi Party's government's handling of the city's health and power infrastructure, claiming that while Delhi faced critical shortages of oxygen and healthcare services, the government focused on constructing "Sheesh Mahal."

"With every page of the CAG report, more and more scams of the AAP government are coming to light. When the people of Delhi needed oxygen, when they needed Mohalla clinics, the Delhi government was busy constructing their Sheesh Mahal. The High Court and the CAG have made serious allegations about their 'mohalla clinics' and the so-called health model. All MLAs will have a detailed discussion on this today," Sood told ANI.

He also emphasized that despite years of promise, the previous government failed to invest in Delhi's power infrastructure.

"The Delhi Government is committed to providing an uninterrupted power supply. For the last many years, the Delhi government has not spent on Delhi's power infrastructure. The summer action plan is being reviewed... All power companies and officials are being instructed to work on their infrastructure," he added. (ANI)
