Congress MP Chamala Kiran Reddy on Monday jumped into the brewing political controversy over the delimitation issue and accused the central government of "confusing" the people.

He alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the centre was trying to "find a formula" to get "control over southern states".

"If delimitation happens as per these leaks, then South Indian states will be affected. This is to confuse the people, and the BJP's agenda is to gain control of the country. They are trying to find a formula to get control over southern states by creating such confusion," Reddy told ANI.

The Congress MP stated that the ruling government must be straight about informing on its agenda concerning the delimitation issue.

"The ruling government should clearly state what their agenda is. First of all, they leak information about 'one nation, one election' and they also leak information about the number of (Lok Sabha) seats increasing state by state, confusing the people of this country," Reddy said.

Speaking on Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) MLC K Kavitha planning to send postcards to Congress leader Sonia Gandhi to pressure the state government to fulfil its election promises, Reddy said many of these postcards would be in favour of the Congress government in Telangana since women are getting free bus services and 200 units of electricity.

"The 10,000 postcards she wants to get made, many of them will be written by women in favour of the Congress because they are getting free bus service, 200 units of free electricity. She just wants to defame the Congress. Telangana women do not consider or pay attention to her," Reddy remarked.

Earlier today, Kavitha sent 10,000 postcards to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, pressing against the state government to fulfil promises regarding women-centric schemes. She also plans to appeal to women in the state to send these postcards to Sonia Gandhi. (ANI)
