The Indian government is set to release the 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, which will benefit 34,95,147 farmers across the country.
This development was announced by Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Odisha's Agriculture Department Principal Secretary, who mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will grace the occasion in Bihar In addition to the PM-KISAN scheme, the Odisha state government has also launched its own initiative, the CM-KISAN scheme, which provides financial assistance to farmers. Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive Rs 4,000 annually, paid in two installments of Rs 2,000 each. Notably, the state government has conducted a special drive to include more eligible farmers in the scheme, adding over 3 lakh farmers to the beneficiary list. This move aims to support small and marginal farmers and landless agricultural households in improving their livelihoods. Speaking to ANI, Odisha's Agriculture Department Principle Secretary Arabinda Kumar Padhee said, "Prime Minister gracing the occasion today in Bihar. The 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme will be issued today to eligible farmers. 34,95,147 farmers beneficiaries will benefit from the (PM-KISAN) scheme. We had started a special drive for eligible farmers. Above 3 lakh farmers are included in the fresh list. The state govt also provides Rs 4 thousand (two thousand twice a year) to the farmers on (CM-KISAN) Scheme." The CM-KISAN scheme is part of the Odisha government's efforts to promote agricultural growth and development in the state. With the combined support of the PM-KISAN and CM-KISAN schemes, farmers in Odisha can avail of financial assistance to enhance their agricultural practices and improve their overall well-being. Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme on Monday during a public gathering in Bihar's Bhagalpur. Under the presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, PM Modi inaugurated several developmental projects and dedicated them to the nation. Addressing the gathering, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar said it is a matter of fortune that PM Modi is releasing the 19th instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme. Nitish added that the scheme run by the central government directly benefits the farmers. "It is a matter of great fortune for us that the PM is releasing the installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana into the accounts of farmers from the land of Bihar. More than 76,000 are included in this. This is a very important scheme of the Central Government, which is directly benefitting farmers", said Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. (ANI)
