Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva launched a scathing attack on Delhi's acting Chief Minister Atishi, questioning her authority within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and alleging internal dissent as "people of her party not ready to accept her as leader of the opposition".
Sachdeva's reaction came against Atishi's criticism of the BJP for failing to appoint a Chief Minister, despite their 48 selected legislators. "Delhi's acting CM Atishi is asking who will be the next CM. I want to ask her that you did not become CM even after sitting on the chair. You are the only example who did not become CM even after sitting on the chair...Atishi, you have nothing left to say," said Sachdeva. Accusing AAP of internal divisions, Sachdeva added, "Luckily, you have become the MLA, but even the people of your party are not ready to accept you as the leader of the opposition. Lying and making baseless allegations is in the genes of the Aam Aadmi Party...Gopal Rai, Sanjeev Jha and many other senior leaders of the party are not ready to accept you as their leader..." On the other hand, amid the war of words, a BJP top source said that the oath-taking ceremony of the next Delhi Chief Minister is likely to take place on February 20 at Ramlila Maidan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Ministers from BJP-ruled states, NDA leaders, Union Ministers, and other prominent figures will attend the ceremony, a Party top source told ANI. The final rehearsal for the oath-taking ceremony at Ramlila Ground is scheduled for tomorrow at 11 AM. According to recent updates, the BJP MLAs will meet on February 19 to elect the new Delhi CM, and the oath-taking ceremony will be held on February 20 at 4:30 pm party top source told ANI. BJP leaders and police personnel will inspect the final arrangements tomorrow. Preparations for the oath-taking ceremony of Delhi's new government at a key meeting took place at the BJP headquarters on Monday. (ANI)
