As voting for the Delhi Assembly elections concluded, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh alleged that people from the Valmiki community are being targeted and arrested across Delhi, urging the Valmiki community to come out and answer the "arrests" using their power of vote.

"The people from the Valmiki community are being targeted and arrested all over Delhi... I want to ask Amit Shah and the BJP what enmity they have against the Valmiki community... I appeal to the people of the Valmiki community to come out of their homes and reply to these arrests through the power of vote...," he said.

However, responding to Sanjay Singh's statement, NDMC member Anil Valmiki dismissed Singh's statement as "purely political," suggesting that Singh was making such claims because he feared the loss of the Delhi elections.

"... Sanjay Singh's statement is purely political because he knows his party is losing in Delhi. PM Modi and BJP respect the Valmiki community so much that they are rattled by it. Valmiki and Dalit communities on all 70 seats are voting for BJP... Arvind Kejriwal is losing his constituency...," said Anil Valmiki.

Earlier on Wednesday, Delhi Police investigated and refuted any claims of voter bribery in the Sarai Kale Khan area under the Jangpura assembly constituency as alleged by APP

AAP had alleged in a post on X (formerly Twitter), that the BJP is "openly distributing money" in the Jangpura assembly constituency.

Responding to the allegations, Delhi Police in a post on X, stated, "Allegations of voter bribery at Sarai Kale Khan were promptly investigated. Police, along with the Exe. Magistrate/Flying Squad Team (FST), ensured thorough verification. No evidence was found to substantiate the claims. Effective Police presence is maintained for peace and order."

AAP had earlier posted on X, "In Jangpura, BJP is openly taking voters to a building and distributing money." The post further stated that such actions are being done "under the supervision of Election Commission (EC) and Delhi police."

"Money is being distributed to voters in the building adjacent to the BJP booth in Jangpura Assembly. All this is being done under the supervision of the Delhi Police and the Election Commission. If you have even a little self-respect left, then take action against these murderers of the Constitution," the post added.

Voting in the Delhi Assembly elections concluded on Wednesday at 6 pm in all 11 districts of the National Capital Territory.

A voter turnout of 57.70 per cent was recorded till 5 pm on Wednesday in the single-phase Delhi assembly elections, according to the Election Commission of India (ECI).

The North-East district of the national capital continues to lead the way with the highest turnout of 63.83 per cent turnout among all districts.

The lowest turnout of 53.77 per cent was recorded in the South East district just behind the New Delhi district where a turnout of 54.37 per cent was recorded at 5 pm.

According to the ECI, the South West district recorded a turnout of 58.86 per cent, East 58.98 per cent, North 57.24 per cent, North West 58.05 per cent, Shahdara 61.35 per cent, South 55.72 per cent, Central 55.24 per cent and West 57.42 per cent, as of 5 pm.
