Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Anand Dubey on Monday hit back at Congress leader Husain Dalwai over his statement on the ongoing Maha Kumbh 2025. Dubey questioned Dalwai's understanding of the Mahakumbh, asking if he had ever attended the festival or simply watched it on TV.

"Husain Dalwai is a senior leader of Congress. He should think before speaking anything. What does Husain Dalwai know about Kumbh? Has he ever been to Kumbh? He has seen it only on TV," Dubey told ANI.

Dubey extended an invitation to Dalwai to experience the Mahakumbh firsthand, saying, "We invite him to Kumbh and take a holy dip." He emphasised that the festival is a celebration of Sanatana, a term referring to the eternal and timeless aspects of Hinduism.

Dubey criticized Dalwai and other leaders of the INDIA Alliance, including those from the DMK, for consistently targeting Sanatana. He urged Dalwai to focus his criticism on the BJP rather than Sanatana, expressing sadness over the repeated attacks.

"We invite him to Kumbh and take a holy dip...When a crowd of 35-40 crore people gathers, we have to tolerate it even if the management lacks a little. This is a festival of Sanatana. I don't know why people of INDIA Alliance hit out at Sanatana again and again - be it DMK leaders or leaders like Husain Dalwai. It is sad. Husain Dalwai should avoid giving such statements...He should criticize BJP, not Sanatana," he said.

On Sunday, Dalwai expressed dissatisfaction with the arrangements in the Mahakumbh Mela 2025, claiming that there is a need for better facilities and management to accommodate the large number of devotees.

"Since a large number of people are coming to the Mahakumbh, the arrangements should also be good. Devotees should be allowed to take a holy dip in the Ganga river in batches," Dalwai said, adding that issues like inadequate lodging for common people and poor overall facilities need urgent attention.

Highlighting public health concerns, he stated, "They should ensure that diseases do not spread. How will the sins of sinners be washed away by taking a dip? I don't think so. No one should commit sins."

The Congress leader further claimed, "Education of poor people has been stopped, hatred is being spread, health facilities have been stopped. These are all sins."

Dalwai further alleged that the current preparations for the Maha Kumbh had "many flaws" and called for immediate corrective measures.

As the largest-ever religious congregation unfolds, a significant number of devotees took a holy dip at the Sangam Triveni Ghat in Prayagraj's Mahakumbh city on Monday.

Over 4.664 million devotees have taken a holy dip at Triveni Sangam till 8 am on Monday in the ongoing Mahakumbh, a release said.

Over one million Kalpwasis are present at the Sangam and the total number of devotees who took a holy dip at the Sangam until Sunday is 130.2 million. (ANI)
