Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Bansuri Swaraj highlighted on Saturday that while other political parties have presented manifestoes for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, the BJP offers a 'Sankalp Patra'--a pledge to fulfil all its promises.
Speaking to ANI, Swaraj said, "Other parties have manifestos but BJP has a 'Sankalp Patra'. BJP will fulfil all its promises in the Sankalp Patra... All those who came to India after partition and were given accommodation in various camps on annual leases will now be given freehold and ownership of their properties (in Delhi). Construction rights will be given in unauthorised colonies which have been regularised." She also accused AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal of spreading lies. "Arvind Kejriwal is spreading lies. All public welfare schemes currently going on in Delhi will continue even under BJP rule," she said. BJP MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat also asserted that the national capital will progress in a planned way after the BJP government in Delhi. "Delhi has a big area which is unauthorised. People invest their hard-earned money in these colonies. Because of the carelessness of the governments so far, they remained unauthorised till now. Today, the Union Home Minister has made it clear that the occupants of unauthorised colonies have the right to ownership of their properties... Delhi will progress in a planned way now," Sehrawat said. Union Minister Harsh Malhotra highlighted that as soon as BJP forms government, 13000 sealed shops in Delhi will be reopened in 2-3 weeks. "Residents of unauthorised colonies will now be able to construct, buy, or sell properties according to the Ministry of Housing by-laws," he said. Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday launched the third part of the BJP manifesto for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, scheduled for February 5. The party has announced several promises, ranging from granting ownership rights to people in refugee colonies to reopening 13,000 sealed shops in the national capital. Addressing the event, Amit Shah said, "Modi ji has announced the granting of ownership rights to more than 1,700 unauthorized colonies. Previously, these colonies did not have permission for construction, buying, or selling. Now, by granting them full ownership rights and aligning with the Ministry of Housing's regulations and Delhi's by-laws, we will give them the right to construct and sell." "13,000 shops in Delhi are sealed, and we have worked with lawyers to find a legal path to reopen them. We will create a judicial authority and reopen these shops within six months to resume operations. Refugee colonies that have been established since 1947, such as Rajendra Nagar, Lajpat Nagar, and Kingsway Camp, currently have people on lease; they cannot sell or buy the land. We will grant ownership rights to all these refugees who have land on lease in these colonies in the first Cabinet meeting," Shah added. (ANI)
