Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah demanded on Monday that Karnataka Assembly Leader of Opposition R Ashok should come up with an explanation before making allegations of corruption against the state government.

On Ashoka's statement regarding Congress' Belagavi convention, CM Siddaramaiah told reporters "Where have these irregularities occurred? Before making such allegations, he should explain that. Just because he makes the claim doesn't mean it is true."

LoP R Ashok dubbed the Congress-led Karnataka government as "60 per cent commission government" and further alleged that the money is being used for a "big rally" of the Congress.

The BJP leader told ANI on Monday, "Congress govt is 60 per cent commission govt, in all sectors, all departments, they are taking 60 per cent commission...Muda scam of Rs 300 crores happened in Mysuru, Valmiki (scam), that included Rs 190 crores, that was a big scandal...where is all this money? It is being used for the Congress Samavesha, a big rally..."

He also alleged that the law and order situation has deteriorated in the state.

"The Congress people looted the Karnataka government for the last 20 months. This is the worst government ever seen. And there is no law and order in Karnataka, " he alleged.

Meanwhile, amid reports of an internal rift in the Congress in Karnataka, the State's Deputy Chief Minister, DK Shivakumar on Monday said that his duty was to save the party and the government.

"My duty is to save the party and keep the government safe. Apart from this, I have no other duties. Don't use my name for anything else. I have no disagreement with anyone," Shivakumar told reporters.

"My first duty is to protect workers. I am doing my job. Don't believe the lies someone tells you in the media. Everyone is the same to me. Activists, legislators, and ministers are all the same. I will bow down to those who work within the framework of our party's discipline and serve them. Party is important to me. "I have been carrying out the responsibilities given to me honestly from time to time," he added. (ANI)
