Congress leader G Madhusudan Reddy has questioned Bharat Rashtra Samithi Working President KT Rama Rao's (KTR) involvement in the Telangana Formula E case, asking why the Supreme Court rejected his petition if he didn't do anything wrong.

Reddy pointed out that KTR transferred money without the Cabinet's or CM's approval, and if he's innocent, he should cooperate with the ACB's investigation.

He told ANI: "If KTR did not do anything, then why did the Supreme Court reject his petition? That means that there's evidence against him. Why is he worried about the ACB's investigation?"

He went on to add: "He transferred money without attaining the Cabinet's or the CM's approval... If he has not done anything wrong, then he should attend the ACB's investigation and prove (his innocence)."

KTR has been accused of financial mismanagement and corruption in connection with the Formula E case. He has denied the allegations, calling hosting the event in Telangana one of his most cherished decisions as a Minister.

In a post on X, KTR criticised political opponents, particularly Congress, for attempting to tarnish the initiative.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has registered an enforcement case information report (ECIR) against KTR and others under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The Telangana Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has also registered a First Information Report (FIR) against KTR and others in the Formula E funding case.

Earlier, after his appearance before ACB on January 9, in connection with the Formula-E race case, KTR claimed that he was repeatedly asked the same questions for over seven hours, despite having no substantial evidence to back the charges.

However, a day before that, reacting to the Telangana High Court's dismissal of the quash petition filed by KTR in the case, Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao had said that the truth will now be revealed as the ACB will investigate the matter.

"...Now the truth will come out. The Anti-Corruption Bureau will investigate the matter... If someone loots the public by sitting in the government, the truth will come out one day," said V Hanumantha Rao. (ANI)
