Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar lashed out at Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal, claiming the former Chief Minister has "put Delhi through hell" in the last 10 years of AAP-led governance through damaged roads, and poor sewage and drinking water system.

Taking a jibe at Kejriwal over the 'Sheesh Mahal' controversy, Khattar said that nobody received any development in Delhi except Kejriwal's residence.

"In the last 10 years, the way Arvind Kejriwal put Delhi through hell, roads are damaged, sewage system and drinking water facilities are bad...nobody had any development, he (Arvind Kejriwal) just did the development of his house," Khattar told ANI.

Expressing confidence in BJP's prospects in the upcoming assembly polls, the former Haryana CM said the people want a change in governance.

"The lies he (Kejriwal) spread for the last 10 years, keeping those in mind, the people of Delhi now want change. The way BJP is working...clearly, BJP will be coming to power in Delhi," he added.

Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also attacked Kejriwal on the Delhi CM's official residence, claiming that even the toilet in the house is more expensive than the slums in the national capital.

Addressing a 'slum dwellers' conference in the national capital, Shah emphasized that the BJP's manifesto is the guarantee of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Meanwhile today, BJP candidate Harish Khurana said that his party will 'restart' all the development works "stalled" by the ruling party.

"The people of Moti Nagar are my family and their enthusiasm shows that the BJP will win the Moti Nagar seat in place of AAP... BJP will restart the development works which have been stopped," Khurana told ANI.

Khurana has been fielded from the Moti Nagar seat, where he is up against AAP's sitting MLA Shiv Charan Goyal in the elections.

The Delhi assembly polls will be held in a single phase on February 5 and the counting of votes will take place on February 8. (ANI)
