Khan Sir, an educator and YouTuber, on Monday, reacted strongly to the Bihar Public Service Commission's (BPSC) notice accusing him of instigating student protests amd demanded the cancellation and re-examination of the BPSC exam.
In a statement, Khan Sir refused to 'apologise', stating that the BPSC has "tarnished its image" and called for a narco test for the BPSC chairman and secretary to uncover the truth. He also declared that he would comply with any instructions from the BPSC if a re-examination is held. Speaking to ANI, Khan sir said, "They (BPSC) have given notice to five centres and alleged that we have instigated the students who are protesting (demanding cancellation of BPSC exam and re-examination). They have said that a criminal case will be registered against us. I want to tell the Bihar Public Service Commission that I will not apologise. They are calling a teacher a criminal; the whole country is watching what is happening in Bihar." "We are fighting for the rights of students...BPSC has tarnished its image...I, BPSC chairman and BPSC secretary, should be subjected to a narco test in front of the media...The truth will come out...If BPSC conducts a re-examination, we will do whatever the BPSC says," he added. He said some people have been "planted" in the BPSC who are "deliberately maligning" the image of the state government and demanded the remocal of the BPSC chairman. "We will file a reply to the notice and send a notice to BPSC that they have caused mental trauma to 5 lakh students...BPSC tried to impose on teachers that we will normalise the exam and you have to explain this to students," the educator further said. "I will also meet the Bihar CM and governor; I have already approached the High Court... No one has the right to play with the rights of students... I demand a CBI inquiry... Bihar CM did not intervene in this matter, due to which the BPSC protest got politicised... If the protest has been politicised, then the state government is responsible for it," Khan sir said. Earlier this month, the Supreme Court refused to entertain a plea raising allegations of widespread malpractices during the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) Preliminary Exam held on December 13, 2024. A bench of Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna and Justices Sanjay Kumar and KV Viswanathan asked the petitioner to approach the Patna High Court with the grievances. Notably, the protesting students are calling for the cancellation of the Integrated Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024, conducted by the BPSC on December 13, due to alleged question paper leaks.
