Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini emphasized on Saturday that his government is committed to providing homes to the poor people and has issued orders to provide benefits to beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Speaking to the media, CM Saini said, "I have issued orders to the officials for carrying out a survey and providing benefits to the beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana...Our government is committed to providing homes to the poor people."

He further mentioned that orders have also been given to build 2200 more 'Amrit Sarovars' in the state.

"Amrit Sarovar Yojana was launched by PM Modi and under the scheme 2000 'Amrit Sarovar' were built in Haryana. Orders have been given to build 2200 more 'Amrit Sarovar' in the state. We have set up a target of setting up one lakh solar panels in the state," the Haryana CM said.

Earlier on Friday, Chief Minister Saini said that the three new criminal laws will be implemented in the state by February 28.

Speaking at a press conference, Saini said, "Discussions have been held over that. We are going ahead swiftly. The three criminal laws will soon be implemented in Haryana. We will be able to complete the process by 28th February."

The laws are Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023; Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023; and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), 2023 whose implementation began from July 1, 2024, to make country's legal system more transparent, efficient, and adaptable to contemporary societal needs.

With this Haryana will become the first among the state and second after the union territory of Chandigarh to implement the new criminal laws in entirety. (ANI)
