Union Minister and Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy on Thursday lashed out at the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy-led Telangana government and the state police administration saying that the responsibility to manage crowd does not belong to Telugu actor Allu Arjun but the police. He further called the death of a woman and injuries to her child during the premiere of Pushpa 2 a 'failure' of the Congress party in the state and the police administration.
"I want to ask whose responsibility is to control the crowd. When people come to listen to political leaders during their rallies, then, who controls the crowd? Whatever happened during the movie promotion is a complete failure of the Congress party and the state government is blaming the actors to save themselves. Today, I want to ask Revanth Reddy, how is Allu Arjun responsible if a lot of fans come tto see him during movie promotions. If the police cannot control the crowd, then, they should not have granted permits for the same. Why did you allow them? This is a police administration failure. I want to tell Revanth Reddy that to hide your failures, the issue has been diverted. I am against targeting the actors. After a lot of hard work, Telangana cinema has been established. The Telugu picture in front of the entire world is earning good name," said Kishan Reddy. Earlier, on December 4, when Allu Arjun attended the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre, a massive crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor, and chaos ensued when he waved to fans from the sunroof of his car. This led to the tragic death of a woman named Revathi and injuries to her child. Following the incident, Allu Arjun was arrested and later released on bail after furnishing a Rs 50,000 bond. On Tuesday, actor Allu Arjun was questioned by Hyderabad police in connection with the tragic incident during the premiere of his film Pushpa 2. (ANI)
