Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shehzad Poonawalla lashed out at the Congress government in Telangana, alleging that the person who threw stones at actor Allu Arjun's house was a close associate of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

Terming it "vendetta politics", he further alleged that the Congress party is taking 'revenge' from the actor for not campaigning for the party.

Speaking to ANI, Poonawalla said "The person who threw stones at Allu Arjun's house has turned out to be a close associate of the CM Revanth Reddy and a member of the Kodangal Youth Congress. This makes it clear that Congress is suffering from vendetta politics and is working with the emergency mentality. They are taking a revenge on Allu Arjun for not campaigning for Congress.."

The BJP leader further recalled the episode during the Emergency, saying Congress had also banned Kishore Kumar's songs and had "tortured" several other actors.

"They had also banned Kishore Kumar's songs and tortured several other actors. They have been arresting journalists and social activists. Crime in Telangana has increased but they just want to take revenge on someone for not campaigning for them..." Poonawalla further added.

On December 22, a case was registered against six members of the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OU-JAC) for allegedly vandalising actor Allu Arjun's residence amid the row over Sandhya Theatre Tragedy.

DCP West Zone, Hyderabad, said that stringent action has been initiated against the accused.

The incident happened around 4:45 pm when some started sloganeering outside the 'Pushpa' actor's residence by chanting slogans and holding placards. One of the protestors mounted the compound and started throwing tomatoes.

The protestors also allegedly manhandled the security staff and damaged some flower pots along the ramp.

The visuals from the spot showed broken pots, shattered glass, and damaged plants outside Allu Arjun's home, which were reportedly caused by the stone pelting.

BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari also attacked the Telangana CM for the vandalism at the actor's residence and accused him of orchestrating state-sponsored violence against the actor.

He alleged that the attack was carried out because Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was rattled as Allu Arjun was not toeing the line of the Congress Party and was not working as per the whims and the fancies of the party. (ANI)
