All India Jharkhand Student Union Party (AJSU) held a review meeting on Thursday in Ranchi, Jharkhand to discuss their performance in the Jharkhand assembly elections.

After the review meet, AJSU chief Sudesh Mahoto said in a statement that they had taken feedback from various party members working at the ground level to determine the probable reasons of their low seat count, while also criticising the ruling alliance of caste polarisation.

"We have taken feedback from the various party organisations and we will slowly go down till the ground level to determine the reasons where we have gone wrong," he said during a press briefing.

The AJSU had only won 1 seat in the assembly elections which concluded in November 18, won by the party chief from the Dumri constituency.

"Healthy discussion never takes place in the assembly and whatever is the further plan of the party we will see..we know the intentions of the state government," Mahoto added.

He further said that they will give a few months' time to the Mahagathbandhan government to fulfill their promises, and that the issues of development and progress were "set aside" while caste polarisation took place.

"The issues of development and progress were set aside while caste polarisation also took place and as time will go the same gloom and darkness will prevail," Mahoto said.

He also claimed that he will go to all of the 24 districts in Jharkhand to discuss any and all problems of the people.

"I will go to districts and blocks to hold discussions and will also travel to all 24 districts of the state and hold discussions with the common people," he added.

After the two-phase assembly election, Hemant Soren-led JMM steered the INDIA bloc to victory with 56 seats in the 81-member Jharkhand assembly. The JMM won 34 seats, while its allies secured 22 seats. Among the allies, the Congress won 16 seats, the RJD won four, and the CPI-ML won two seats.

The BJP-led NDA won only 24 seats in Jharkhand. The BJP secured 21 seats, while its allies the AJSU party, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), and JD-U won one seat each. (ANI)
