Union Minister and Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy on Wednesday criticized Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy after the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) staged a protest demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) investigation into the Manipur and Adani issues.

G Kishan Reddy accused CM Revanth Reddy of engaging in "fake publicity" through the protests, labeling them as examples of Congress' "double standards."

He added that Rahul Gandhi has been talking about such allegations for the last 4-5 years, but the Congress party has never shown proof or given a context.

"Today in Hyderabad, Telangana CM, along with state ministers and Congress MLAs held a protest demanding JPC over Adani issue, he blocked the way in Raj Bhavan. Being a CM, doing such fake publicity, and holding protest, the double standard of Congress has come out. Today I want to question Rahul Gandhi, who has always talked about Adani for the last 4-5 years, but he has never any proof nor given any context.... Demanding an action just on the basis of a website and protesting in Parliament is wrong...." Reddy told ANI.

Earlier in the day, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) organized a 'Chalo Raj Bhavan' rally outside Raj Bhavan on the Manipur and Adani issues.

During the rally, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy said that they are compelled to stage this protest because the country has been "insulted."

The Chief Minister reiterated the demands of constituting a JPC into the alleged Adani indictment.

The party will stage a protest in front of the Rashtrapati Bhavan if the demands of constituting JPC won't be completed, the CM said.

"Regarding the issues raised by Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge in Parliament, Congress and India Alliance demands a JPC, and also requests the Lok Sabha Speaker and Rajya Sabha Chairman for the same... We are compelled to stage this protest because Modi and Adani have insulted this country in front of the world... If a JPC is not formed, we are going to stage this protest in front of the Rashtrapati Bhawan as well... That is why the Congress party has announced to stage a protest in front of the Raj Bhawans of every state in this country..." CM Reddy said.

The Congress and several parties of the INDIA bloc have been protesting against the BJP-led Central government over the Manipur and Adani issues and have been demanding a JPC investigation into these. (ANI)
