Congress leader Mumtaz Patel on Sunday criticised the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Arvind Kejriwal, accusing them of spending the last decade making excuses and now resorting to playing the victim card to secure victory in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.

"...Congress has released its first list of candidates. We will expose AAP's weaknesses... AAP and Arvind Kejriwal are playing the victim card. They have spent their 10 years just making excuses. Congress will contest the elections on all seats with full strength and hopes to win... Rohingyas are not a relevant issue. Look at the roads in the national capital--there is no clean water, and pollution remains a major problem. They are introducing new issues to divert people's attention," said the Congress leader.

Meanwhile, AAP on Sunday released its fourth and final list of 38 candidates for the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections.

According to the list, the party's national convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will contest from New Delhi, Chief Minister Atishi from Kalkaji, Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj from Greater Kailash, and Minister Gopal Rai from Babarpur.

Additionally, Satyendra Kumar Jain will contest from Shakur Basti, Durgesh Pathak from Rajinder Nagar, Ramesh Pehalwan from Kasturba Nagar, Raghuvinder Shokeen from Nangloi Jat, Som Dutt from Sadar Bazar, Imran Hussain from Ballimaran, and Jarnail Singh from Tilak Nagar.

There are two new names among the 38 candidates announced today, while the remaining 36 MLAs have been repeated. AAP has fielded Ramesh Pehalwan from Kasturba Nagar, and Naresh Balyan's wife, Pooja Naresh Balyan, has been fielded from Uttam Nagar.

Notably, the Congress, which governed Delhi for 15 consecutive years, has performed poorly in the last two assembly elections, failing to secure even a single seat.

In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, AAP won 62 of the 70 seats, while the BJP secured eight. (ANI)
