Union Minister and BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu took a jibe at the Gandhi family on Thursday after Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi took oath in Parliament as the MP from Kerala's Wayanad, stating that they now would be be "happy and satisfied" as the entire Gandhi family is now in Parliament.
"The entire Gandhi family is in Parliament now with Sonia Gandhi in Rajya Sabha and Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi in Lok Sabha. I am sure they are happy and satisfied now. Sonia Gandhi has been successful in this planning for her family. Congress is truly limited to the Gandhi family now," Bittu told ANI. Meanwhile, Congress MP KL Sharma said that Priyanka Gandhi will raise the "issues relating to women's empowerment" in Parliament. Priyanka Gandhi also said, "The priority will be to raise important issues concerning the nation. There is nothing above the Constitution for us, and we will continue to fight for it." Rajya Sabha MP Sonia Gandhi expressed her happiness on Priyanka Gandhi taking oath in Parliament following her win in the recent Lok Sabha bypolls in Wayanad. "We are all very happy and proud," Sonia Gandhi told ANI. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra entered the Lok Sabha earlier today, marking the beginning of her journey as a Member of Parliament. Gandhi was seen wearing a traditional Kerala Kasavu saree. The Congress General Secretary took oath as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha while holding a copy of the Constitution. She secured the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat with a margin of 4,10,931 votes, defeating Sathyan Mokeri of the Communist Party of India (CPI). Wayanad, a Congress stronghold, witnessed a triangular contest between Priyanka Gandhi, BJP's Navya Haridas, and CPI's Sathyan Mokeri. The Wayanad seat was vacated by her brother Rahul Gandhi, who previously represented Wayanad but shifted to Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh after being elected to the Lok Sabha from there during this year's general elections.
