Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and JD(U) leader KC Tyagi on Friday exuded confidence in the BJP-led alliance's victory in the Jharkhand and Maharashtra Assembly elections.
"Tomorrow the results are coming. I went to Maharashtra and Jharkhand. BJP is going to do well and in both Maharashtra and Jharkhand, we are going to form governments," Meghwal said. While Tyagi said that the 'Ladli Behen' scheme launched by the Mahayuti government will help the ruling alliance in Maharashtra to win the election. "I am hopeful that the NDA alliance will emerge victorious in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. 'Ladli Behen' scheme has created an atmosphere of support in favour of the NDA alliance," Tyagi told ANI. The counting for the assembly polls in Maharashtra and Jharkhand will be held on Saturday, November 23. Meanwhile, BJP's National General Secretary Tarun Chugh criticised the Congress for blaming EVMs for their defeat in the previous elections and expressed that the INDIA bloc led by Congress will be "wiped out" in the upcoming results for Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly. "They blame EVMs for their defeat. But, when they won the elections in Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh and Telangana, the EVMs were correct," Chug told ANI. Saying that the people will bless the party to form the government, he said that the opposition's anger and desperation are clearly visible. "Just like people rejected Congress in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana, similarly in Maharashtra and Jharkhand too, the Congress-led alliance will be wiped out, the people will give a befitting reply to the corrupt, parivarvaad. PM Modi's government, which works for the poor, women and the youth will get the blessings of the people," Chugh added. In Maharashtra, the BJP is in alliance with Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, Ajit Pawar-led and Nationalist Congress Party, called the Mahayuti. The Mahayuti is facing a tough battle against the opposition Maha Vikas Agadhi (MVA), comprising of Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (SCP). One needs to secure atleast 145 seats to secure a majority in the 288-seat assembly. In the 81-seat assembly of Jharkhand, the BJP seeks to defeat the ruling JMM party. For this assembly elections, the BJP is in alliance with the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Janata Dal (United), and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas). While the JMM-led alliance consists of Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist). (ANI)
