As the Jharkhand Assembly elections concluded on Wednesday, BJP state president Babulal Marandi expressed gratitude to the voters for exercising their democratic rights and to party leaders for their efforts in campaigning and promoting the party's policies.

Addressing a press conference after the polls closed at 5.00 pm, Marandi said, "The brothers and sisters of Jharkhand come out to strengthen democracy and performed their duty as citizens. I saw in so many places that there were long lines at the polling booths. The people have voted to form a strong government and to have a viksit Jharkhand, that is my hope."

He also extended his thanks to the Election Commission of India and police officials for ensuring the peaceful conduct of the elections.

Acknowledging the contributions of various BJP leaders during the campaign, Marandi said, "Many leaders came to Jharkhand, and we will also send out a nice write-up for each. Despite elections taking place in Maharashtra as well, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held six rallies and one roadshow here. As you can see, the country's PM came here and gave us time to strengthen democracy, this shows the love he has for Jharkhand," said Marandi.

He further highlighted that Union Home Minister Amit Shah conducted 17 rallies and one roadshow, while several other leaders, including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Mohan Yadav, Charan Majhi, and Bhajanlal Sharma, also actively participated in the campaign.

According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), Jamtara recorded the highest turnout at 76.16 per cent, followed by Pakur with 75.88 per cent, and Deoghar with 72.46 per cent.

Bokaro recorded the lowest turnout of 60.97 per cent, with Dhanbad at 63.39 per cent, Dumka at 71.74 per cent, Giridih at 65.89 per cent, Godda at 67.24 per cent, Hazaribagh at 64.41 per cent, Ramgarh at 71.98 per cent, and Sahebganj at 65.63 per cent. (ANI)
