Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and BJP MP Anurag Thakur watched the film 'The Sabarmati Report' during its screening on Wednesday.
Puri heaped praise on the Vikrant Massey-starrer 'The Sabarmati Report' and said that "this is a powerful film." "People had no knowledge of the incident, but after Ekta Kapoor decided to make a movie on it, the truth has finally come out. This is a powerful film," Puri told ANI after watching the film. When asked about the film being made tax-free in four states, he said, "It will be made tax-free in other states as well. Those who were making false accusations against the movie will be rattled." The Union Minister also took to X to share his thoughts about 'The Sabarmati Report'. "It is said that a lie travels halfway around the world, while the truth is still tying its shoelaces. 'The Sabarmati Report', directed by Dheeraj Sarna, delves into the 2002 Godhra train coach-burning incident, which led to widespread riots in Gujarat. The movie, directed by Dheeraj Sarna and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Amul V Mohan and Anshul Mohan, explores the real-life events of the burning of the S-6 coach of the Sabarmati Express near Godhra station on February 27, 2002. The tragedy claimed the lives of 59 Hindu pilgrims returning from Ayodhya and subsequently triggered riots across Gujarat. (ANI)
