Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav took a dig at the Congress, saying that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) gives opportunities to people from all communities whereas Congress has always given priority to one family (referring to Gandhi family).

CM Yadav held roadshows and addressed public gatherings at four assembly constituencies, including Sion Koliwada assembly seat in Mumbai in support of BJP-MahaYuti candidates on the last day of campaigning for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly polls on Monday.

BJP-led MahaYuti candidate Captain R Tamil Selvan is a sitting MLA from Sion Koliwada assembly seat and contesting again from the seat. On the otherhand, the opposition Congress party has fielded Ganesh Kumar Yadav from the seat.

When CM Mohan Yadav was asked about campaigning against a Yadav candidate in Sion Koliwada assembly constituency, he told ANI, "I am campaigning in favour of BJP and the BJP made a Chief Minister of a state (Madhya Pradesh), it is a matter of pride for people of my community (referring to Yadav community). It symbolises PM Modi's spirit when he said 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas'. The BJP gives opportunities to people from all communities. Whereas the Congress party has always given priority to one family and that's why no one believes in Congress."

Meanwhile, in a post on X, CM Yadav wrote that Maharashtra has decided to bloom the lotus of development.

"Today, during the public gathering organised in support of Mahayuti candidate Captain R Tamil Selvan in Sion Koliwada Assembly in Mumbai, the public showcased unforgettable love. This enthusiasm of the crowd is proof that the public's faith is with us in taking Maharashtra's development journey further and MahaYuti is once again going to form the government in Maharashtra with a huge majority," CM Yadav wrote on X.

The 288-member Maharashtra assembly elections are scheduled to be held in one phase on November 20, with votes to be counted on November 23.

In the 2019 Maharashtra assembly elections, the BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena secured 56, and Congress 44. In 2014, the BJP won 122 seats, Shiv Sena 63, and Congress 42. (ANI)
