Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav spoke to an elderly woman, Bhujlo Bai (65), who bravely faced a wolf in Khakra Chourai village in Chhindwara district over phone, enquired about her well being, health conditions and assured her of providing proper treatment.

CM Yadav appreciated Bhujlo Bai's courage to face the wolf and announced financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

While taking over the phone, CM Yadav said that he directed the Chhindwara Collector to take care of proper treatment of the lady and also instructed to get her transferred to Bhopal for further treatment if required.

In the meantime, CM Yadav also enquired about the condition of the victim's family and assured them to bear the entire cost of treatment.

The CM said, "The state government will provide complete treatment to the brave woman Bhujlo Bai. The victim will also be airlifted to Bhopal for further treatment if needed."

Notably, while guarding the crop on Friday morning (November 8), two women Bhujlo Bai (65) and Durgabai (55) were sleeping in a field near Khakra Chourai village under Amarwara range in Chhindwara district. During this, a wolf attacked Bhujlo and bit off the thumb of one of her hands.

On hearing the screams, Durga Bai rushed to save Bhujlo Bai. The wolf attacked her too and sustained wounds in her hand and head. The struggle between the women and the wolf continued for half an hour. After that, Bhujlo Bai killed the wolf by attacking it with a Spade (a sharp tool used in agriculture 'Phavda') kept nearby.

Thereafter, both the women injured in the wolf attack were admitted to the district hospital Chhindwara and were undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, acting on the CM's direction, collector Sheelendra Singh reached the district hospital enquired about the well-being of the women injured and talked to family members. He also instructed the doctors to provide proper treatment. (ANI)
