Tripura: Six detained Bangladeshi nationals for illegal entry set to be presented in court today

Six Bangladeshi nationals detained at Jirania Railway station for illegally trespassing into India a day ago would be presented to the court on Friday, Officer in charge, Government Railway Police Station said.

The individuals, including three men and three members of the third gender, reportedly entered India illegally from Bangladesh. They were detained while attempting to board a train to travel further into other states.

"The operation involved collaboration between Agartala Government Railway Police (GRP), Border Security Force (BSF), and Railway Protection Force (RPF). Following their detention, the six individuals were taken to the Agartala GRP station, where they are undergoing rigorous questioning," Officer in charge, GRPS said.

Authorities suspect that more people may be connected to this case and anticipate further arrests as the investigation unfolds. A case has been registered at Agartala GRP station. The detainees are scheduled to be presented in court on November 8.

The detained persons have been identified as Ekhlas Mia (24 years, Third Gender), Rubayet Hossain @ Simi (20 years, Third Gender), Zakira @ Mona (22 years, Bangladeshi tout), Zakaraiya (19 years), Tanvir Ahmed (20 years, Third Gender), and Mohammad Mominul Haque (54 years, Bangladeshi tout).

The Agartala GRP is continuing the investigation, with officials expecting further developments in the coming days.

Earlier two Bangladeshi citizens were detained by the security personnel for illegally entering India, said police officials.

They were detained on Tuesday afternoon at the Agartala Railway Station.

The Bangladesh nationals were identified as Mohammed Jalal Awladar (40) and Ruma Begum (25) with her 4-year-old daughter Raima and are residents of Bagerhat district of Bangladesh. They reportedly planned to board a train to travel to other Indian states.

Based on the confidential information, a joint operation involving the Agartala Government Railway Police (GRP), Border Security Force (BSF), and Agartala Railway Protection Force (RPF) led to their detention. (ANI)
