Andhra Pradesh minister for BC, EWS Welfare, Handlooms, and Textiles, S Savitha reportedly helped four women reach the hospital after they were injured in a bus accident on the Tadepalli highway.

On Wednesday, four women, identified as Adilakshmi, Narayanamma, Saraswati, and Narayanamma, were going home after work had crossed the highway in front of Jayabheri Apartments when a Road Transport Corporation (RTC) bus travelling from Vijayawada to Guntur struck the women, leaving them severely injured.

Minister Savitha was passing by the area when she saw the injured women, promptly taking action and transporting them to Mangalagiri NRI Hospital in her own vehicle instead of waiting for the ambulance.

The minister further went to the hospital to check on the injured and instructed the doctors to provide the best possible medical care.

One woman was reported to be in critical condition because of the accident.

Doctors reported that one of the women is in critical condition.

People who witnessed the act by the minister also reportedly praised her response and compassionate gesture of transporting the injured to the hospital herself.

The accident reportedly caused a traffic jam for several kilometres on Tadepalli highway. (ANI)
