Samajwadi Party leader Dimple Yadav on Wednesday rebutted Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's comments about the Mughal Museum in Agra, calling them a deliberate attempt to distract the public and stir emotions, while highlighting key issues facing the state.

Earlier in the day, Yogi Adityanath had made statements about the Mughal Museum in Agra, questioning its association with Mughal rulers and suggesting the museum be renamed to honour Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. In her response, Dimple Yadav condemned such remarks, calling them distractions aimed at stirring emotions.

"I believe these controversial statements are made to distract people and stir up emotions. They won't tell you how much investment has come into Uttar Pradesh, where millions of rupees have been signed for projects. But if you look, no new factories have been set up in Uttar Pradesh. They won't tell you that. This statement remains true," Dimple Yadav said.

The SP MP added, "If you look at their politics, they have always used negative politics to gather votes, but today people from all communities have understood that by using such language, they want to make changes to the Constitution and kill democracy."

Dimple pointed out that unemployment rates in India are at an all-time high under the current government. "The history of the country bears witness to the fact that when the socialists and caste-based politics have completed their 10 years in power, if we look at unemployment rates, they are at their peak today. Statistics show that India has never faced such high unemployment as it does now. There are so many issues with women's safety. What is the current state of our education system? What is the situation of roads in villages? There is a shortage of DAP fertilizers, and the health situation is poor," she said.

She further added that the government's failure to address critical issues has worsened public health. "If they had done their job properly, today there would not be so many cancer patients, and they would have been able to open cancer institutes and hospitals, but even the ones that are open are not being properly managed," Dimple Yadav said.

Yogi Adityanath, while campaigning in Maharashtra ahead of the upcoming assembly election, had said, "I remember when I became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in 2017, I went to Agra. While I was inspecting the area, I was told that a Mughal had ruled here. I wondered, what connection does the Mughal empire have with India? What connection does it have with Agra? I was told that this ruler had governed here, but I asked, what is his connection to India? Our connection is with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. I said, change the name of this museum, it should not be associated with the Mughal empire, it should represent the Maratha legacy and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Brothers, we have completely redesigned the museum to honor the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj." (ANI)
