Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday lashed out at the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government for troubling people over various issues, highlighting problems related to electricity bills and pre-paid meters. He also said that the law and order situation has collapsed as the criminals have become fractious.

"People have made up their mind that they have to teach a lesson to the current National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government. People have been troubled - from the electricity bill, and pre-paid meters to land surveys. They are fed up now. You can see that crime has increased day by day. Today, we listed 110 murder incidents. The criminals are celebrating, while law and order have collapsed. The government has failed and the criminals have become fractious, out of control. Incidents (of crime) are increasing constantly," Tejashwi Yadav said.

Ahead of the by-elections in Bihar, the former Deputy Chief Minister said that his party would go to the people and ask for votes in favour of their grand alliance.

"We will go among the people and ask for voters in favour of Mahagathbandhan. We are confident and sure that we will win all four seats in the by-elections," he said.

Earlier, Yadav expressed confidence about RJD's preparations for the upcoming assembly elections in Jharkhand and said that the atmosphere was very positive for them and people were weary of the current Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government.

"The Jharkhand Election campaign is still going on. But the atmosphere is very good. The people are tired of the present BJP government. As a grand alliance, we are contesting the elections with full force," he said.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) had announced bypolls to four assembly constituencies in Bihar's Belaganj, Imamganj, Tarari, and Ramgarh. The by-elections are scheduled be to held on November 13 and the results will be announced on November 23. (ANI)
